Black Girls vs. Blue Girls

We have all heard the phrase “Little Black Dress.” You probably have a quick “go-to” one in the closet now. Some of us may have given up on the idea of ever finding one that suits our needs. If this is you, I want to offer some hope.

Every woman is “Not” the little black dress type!

At this point in your life you have a firm handle on your likes and dislikes. You probably have at least a sense of what fashion trends fit your life. However, you may not know that every woman doesn’t need a little black dress. You actually need to realize what type of girl you are to decided if that is necessary for your lifestyle.

To stylists, “black or blue girl” is an unspoken rule. We give you questionnaires to give us insight on your style. Show you pictures to see how you react. We even take you shopping to watch your face light up or the lack there of, to see which type of fashion category you fall into. We have all heard of classic, boho chic, or street styles for your overall look, but what determines your everyday staple pieces for your closet?

It’s very simple.

Look in your closet right now.

Like seriously, look in your closet!

What colors do you see?

If you see a lot of blacks. If you are wearing black at the moment. If you imagine every cute outfit in black, you are definitely a Black Girl! This has nothing to do with your skin color but everything to do with your natural sense of what you feel looks best on you!

If you also have some black but are a little daring and your next favorite colors are bright reds, yellows, and pinks, you are still a Black Girl!

However if you have a strong sense of color and your closet is full of vintage designs that range from quilt-like prints to extreme plaids, you my dear, are a Blue Girl!

If you see more earth tones, oranges, burgundies, and greens in your closet, you are also a Blue Girl!

So now that you know which one you are, I’ll explain why this is important.

Your closet, just like your life should be set up on a firm foundation. Your foundation will keep you focus and simplify your shopping experiences and everyday attire. This is not for the “one time” outfit slayers. This is for the everyday woman who wants to look polish and well presented when you walk out of the door.

Knowing if you are a black or blue girl, paves the way to purchase the Fashion Investment Pieces (FIP) every woman needs for a successful fashion wardrobe. At this point in your life, you understand the difference in buying cheaply made clothing that will last a few months or years and high quality items that can last a lifetime. I will show you how to get the wardrobe of your dreams at reasonable prices.
